Those who know me will know that I am a very accomplished procrastinator, in fact, I have made it an art form. Two years ago I discovered podcasts while caring for my newborn daughter. My mind was blown and I though – ‘where have you been all my life?’. Now at my finger tips was a way of being immersed in the most amazing stories, and connecting with the most interesting people all with by just pressing a button on my phone. From the moment I heard my first episode I knew I just had to get involved.
With my mind exploding with ideas, I took some classes and connected with people who produce podcasts and walked around on air thinking of all the great projects I would be involved with. And then crickets…….
The serial procrastinator in me took charge and one by one I found reasons not to start. Reasons that it wouldn’t be perfect and needed to be delayed until X, Y, or Z was completed. And time marched on.
However, my love of podcasts never wavered, each episode that I enjoyed only convinced me more that this was a unique way to engage with an audience. If I had something to share, this was the way I wanted to share it.
So I wrestled with my inner procrastinator and finally, finally, we reach this point – a website devoted to Podcasts. So I am setting myself free from all the complex ideas keeping me from moving forward. The result is a website all about podcasts that I love and podcast projects that I am working on. But of course, for me, it’s all about podcasting community so if you have a podcast you love why not send me an email at: laurasmithlovespodcasts@gmail.com or connect with me on Facebook or Instagram @LauraSmithLovesPodcasts. I would love to hear from you.
